Hi everyone, 

I hope you’re all having a great weekend. 

I’m now nearing the end of my US Spring Tour with shows this weekend in Alabama and Atlanta. 

It’s been an eventful tour with 14,000 miles added to Wilson’s clock (our 23-year old Toyota 4runner) which now means it’s on 437,000 miles! Every tour we swear it’s going to be his last, but the car just keeps on going and going! 

This tour started setting out from California at the beginning of April and went to Florida, up the east coast to North Carolina, Connecticut all the way to Maine. Then we headed over to Nashville for a show with Shawn Mullins, onto Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Minnesota and now finishing in Alabama and Georgia. 

 

The drive back from Minnesota was quite an adventure - it took 17 hours in all because of major storms that followed us as we drove south, and we had to take shelter at a gas station for a while to let a passing tornado go across the interstate we were driving on. Quite hair raising! 

Anyway, we all made it safe and sound to Atlanta and are looking forward to finishing the tour over here then hopping across the pond to do some shows in the UK. 

I want to say another HUGE THANK YOU to every single one of you who helped get me to 101% of my target for making this record. Your generosity has been absolutely incredible! 

As some of you may have heard, PledgeMusic, which is the crowd funding website I used on my previous 2 albums recently went bankrupt due to their mis-managing of artist money. Thankfully I had two successful campaigns with them and got the money I was owed but I know several artists personally who are owed a significant amount of money and there are lots more who they have failed to pay. 

Because of the demise of PledgeMusic which happened only a few weeks before I was launching this campaign, I decided to go it alone and host it on my own website. I wasn’t sure how well it would work or whether everyone would be ok with me doing that, so I want to say thank you again for the way you have all embraced it and made it all possible! 

For this update, I have included a video of me and Shawn in the studio in Georgia recording our duet of Love Hurts in full. I hope you enjoy it!
